Fashion Design Program started formal education at Haliç University Vocational School in the 2016-2017 academic year.

Department Opportunities: In our two-year program, theoretical lessons, workshop practices, and industry-based education are provided. The program is designed to teach students the basic concepts of textiles, fashion design, and ready-to-wear fashion, as well as to develop manual skills in industry and workshop applications. The program aims to meet the industry's qualified staff needs today and in the future. Based on the fashion design and technological developments of our age, the textile, ready-to-wear, and fashion design sector has gained the professional qualifications that it needs and trains qualified professional staff. The education program is aimed for students to design and present creative and original products with the relations of form, color, material, structure, function by improving their abilities. In addition to the necessary courses that complement the fashion design program in technical, professional, cultural, and artistic aspects, the training program includes workshops, fair participation and exhibition organizations, educational trips, compulsory and optional industry internships. While our students also have a design, pattern, sewing, technical equipment, and knowledge in our Fashion Design Program, they have a qualified learning process with programs such as DesignCad, Illustrator, Coral Draw, and Photoshop, which are widely used in their fields of study. At the Haliç University Fashion Design Program, students are required to do a summer internship for 30 business days in order to practically apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the education.

Career Opportunities: Graduates of the Fashion Design Program can work as a designer, stylist, and model in public institutions and organizations, textile factories and workshops, knitting-weaving-printing industry, ready-to-wear industry, textile export companies, private enterprises, fashion houses, and model houses; They can also open their own fashion houses and workshops in the industry and create jobs.

Bachelor Programs Passed by Vertical Transfer: Candidates who have successfully completed their associate degree education can pass to bachelor programs which give 4 years of training such as; Fashion Clothing Design, Fashion Design, Fashion, and Textile Design, Textile, Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Textile and Fashion Design Programs with Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) which provides the right to pass to undergraduate programs.

The education period of the Fashion Design Program is two years and the language of instruction is Turkish.
