Department of Public Relations and Publicity which has become a discipline by blending with media and advertising in the field of communication sciences, was opened as a department of the Faculty of Business Administration at our university to train public relations professionals who have high communication skills, can use communication technologies effectively, analyze the current period well and create communication strategies in this context.. Businesses need Public Relations and Publicity practices as a business function in order to protect their market shares, to get more shares, and to make a "difference" in every field.
At the same time, businesses strive to functionalize this administrative function in order to strengthen their image and gain a strong position in the national market and international arena. The department contributes to these fields with its training on public relations, publicity, advertising, and opinion researches, which gain importance in the developing communication environment. During the first two years of the undergraduate program, courses about communication, in general, are given; from the third year onwards, more practical lessons such as public relations planning and practices, and advertising management and writing are provided.
Internship Opportunities
Students have to complete a 22-day professional internship in the Public Relations and Publicity Department from the semester they want. There is no prerequisite for the internships that the students undergo training in all private or public institutions that they want and prefer. The main purpose of their internship is that they can gain work experience. Students can intern in all branches of the media (newspapers, televisions, radios, etc.), public relations and advertising agencies, public relations departments of private or public institutions, and public relations units of the tourism sector.

Graduates of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity can manage and advise in Public Relations and Advertising Agencies, in the public relations departments/units of public and private institutions, and in the media and tourism sectors. Graduate students considering an academic career can continue their postgraduate education in one of the departments of interpersonal communication, advertising, and public relations, and become experts in their fields.
